Inspired by watching fighter planes Carl Breer a Chrysler engineer conducted wind tunnel tests and designed the Desoto Airflow.
The Desoto Airflow averaged 21.4 miles per gallon on a trip from New York to San Francisco, a distance of 3114 miles and averaged 74.7 miles per hour.
Only 13,940 Desoto Airflows were built and sold for $995. |

The 1939 Oldsmobile Business Coupe 80 L series was relatively rare, with only 736 being built and 2 were exported. It sold for $920.
